Be Ye Humble B*#%h

Riddle me this….why is it so hard for so many to just be humble?!?!?

I mean really, we have just embarked on a brand new year, one that we have never seen, one that has so many opportunities tucked away in it for us, yet we can’t even bring ourselves to be humble in the first 15 days!?!?

Seriously WTF is the problem people????

Folks are so quick to treat you how they want to, but the minute you pull a “them on them”, they get in their feelings, head to social media posting subliminal messages and then delete and block you so you can’t tell the people the truth.

Newsflash in order for your feelings about me to be relevant to me, you have too be relevant to me!

I treat people according to the way I want to be treated, not how they treat me. Lucky for them deliverance is real!

Now I didn’t always do this. There was a time in my life where I was reckless and treated people any old way and could care less. I had my nose in the air and my middle finger up and during that time, the universe was very unkind to me.

That forced me to realize that I was allowing my pride to determined how I treated people and how I lived daily. Well HONEY I lived and BABY…I learned!

There is a stark difference between holding your head high and turning your nose up, and these days I allow my integrity to lead me…NOT pride!

I have made some awesome relationships, friends and #bakelifebuddies in the past few months and there is no way I would have had the opportunities to unite with them if I allowed my pride to lead me.

I say all of that to say this… I have not a second of sleep to give up for somebody who is in their feelings! In other words…your attitude has no bearings on my fabulousness, therefore I will pay you and your actions accordingly… in pure DUST(#nodisco)! <—-I crack me up!!

Seriously… that Regina George “Mean Girls” attitude is so 2004!  There’s enough butter, flour, sugar and eggs to go around!!

It’s 2015…Be Ye Humble B#%*hes!

Straight MAC’n…

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA I be, I be, I be, I be on my MAC’n ish…. <— Yup that’s how I’m feeling fresh out of my #IdolcidoesNYC French Macaron Class, and yes to the beat of Childish Gambino’s “I Be On That”! So let me first give you a bit of background info about my quest to start MAC’n. I have been (via IG) absolutely stakling the hell out of Andi’s (@idolci’s) macaron making for months on end. Literally for 3/4 of 2014 I have been wanting to try to make macs and Google searching like a mad woman, hoping to find a recipe that made sense. Yeah well all of that went straight shit when I stumbled upon this picture… 10363860_636733746409812_6981929682295493529_n-2 At that moment I knew that I was gonna have to find a way to get schooled by this MAC making genius!! It was then that a stalker was born… cue the Single White Female soundtrack!! Hi my name is Kiyonna and I stalked my way into a coveted spot in the “iDolcidoesNYC Double Decker French Macaron Class.”

Coming off of the high of CPC I didn’t really think that anything would come along and get me as fired up and giddy for quite some time, boy was I wrong. I had an absolute BLAST last night and the only thing that would be better would have/could have been offered at CPC. Although that would have probably sent me of the edge…Fred Sanford Style. Since I am a TRUE believer of you get back, what you give out, I knew getting into this class would be the pure generosity of the universe! Considering that prior to going to CPC all of her NYC classes were completely sold out I didn’t even give it a second thought, but I know better than to count anything that I set my mind/heart on out! The Best Weekend Ever a.k.a. Cake Pop Con 2014

Guess who had the BEST weekend ever… that’d be me!!

Cake Pop Con 2014

Me at Cake Pop Con 2014

This weekend I had the opportunity to attend the FIRST ever International Cake Pop Convention aka Cake Pop Con!!

Cake Pop Con consisted of 200+ bakers/ cake poppers from around the globe, uniting to strengthen our skills, knowledge and cake pop community bond. We took over Philadelphia, PA, and left a trail of candy melts and disco dust along the way.

While I cannot speak for every one in attendance I can assure you that I left Philadelphia a different baking professional.

So where do I start…at the beginning of course. LOL!

I had arrived...

I had arrived…

I arrived in Philly just a little before check in time, and was greeted with smiles from all of the wonderful staff at the Courtyard Marriot.

I knew right then that it was gonna be a great weekend. That and the fact that the very first people I met, where the wonderful parents of  Kim Celano. They were so super sweet and greeted me with big hugs and jokes! Kim your parents are the BOMB. They even let me call them Mom & Pops all weekend. How awesome is that? LOL!

With the tone set, I was ready to let my hair and guard down and just have a good time. Continue reading
